Hi, I’m Jess.

I support children, teens, couples, and families in their therapeutic process.

My Approach

How I Present in Session

I do not believe in presenting as a “blank slate therapist”. I believe change happens through the authentic relational interactions between the client and therapist. I will show up as myself to sessions with my colored hair and tea, however; I will not be taking up space by speaking about myself.

My Theoretical Perspective

I am a systems based therapist who assesses the impacts of the client’s systems and collaborates with clients to create sustainable change across these systems. I do not believe healing or progress is sustainable when changed in only one systemic area. For example, the majority of us are impacted by our family system (either current or family of origin), social systems, work systems, relational systems, or school systems. I learn the details of how each system interacts with you individually or relationally in order for us to process fully.

I operate from the perspective of relational experiential therapy. Evidence shows the bond formed between client and therapist is the primary factor in creating change. In each session I will create new interactions with you which will create new internal and external experiences. The client takes these experiences from the session, and uses the tools learned to form flexibility in their patterns and ways of interacting.

Couples & Relational Therapy

I provide relational work with couples, polyamorous configurations, or families. I work alongside clients to increase understanding of the stuck patterns they have created and how to change those patterns to increase connection and understanding. I utilize a mixture of Gottman Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
